When we arrived at Buitan was a very traditional fishing village, located at the district of Manggis Karangasem eastern Bali near Candidasa, I was amazed by the wonderful thing about the nature, a spectacular panorama or the terraces ricefield, rural ambience and the Majestic Mount Agung at the far back, for Bali it's the place of the Supreme God “The Navel of the World”. The sea was magnificent, clear blue water, remained untouched by modern influences, seduce everyone especially beach and dive lovers. Now Buitan boast a luxury 5 stars hotel and some small accommodations in Balinese style bungalow.

When we were preparing everything for dive a cordial local man came close to us and gave his own wooden boat used free of charge in the hope of us catching a lot of fish. We sailed at 09.00 a.m in calm sea. About 50 m from the beach we arrived on the coral reef where the wave breaks itself. Under very good weather we could see a wonderful underwater world among the coral reefs.

My Italian clients brought their own dive equipments because they were the holder of PADI license. While the native divers used their own talent. Wow, wow, wow, what a great day, we fished many (only selected fish), one thing surprised me that Bli Monyoh got 4 king lobsters. At 11.00 a.m. we finished our adventure and the local man was waiting us on the beach ready with his woods fire, chili, onions, garlic, salt and coconut oil. We grilled our fish in relax atmosphere on the beach with nice breeze of the ocean, than enjoyed a delicious gala lunch in cowboy style. Wow amazing, we really celebrated and enjoyed a great day.

Now in Bali there are some exciting and fascinating, world renowned dive sites: Nusa Dua, Sanur, Padang Bay, Gili Tapekong, Tulamben, Amed, Nusa Penida and Lembongan and Menjangan Island.

 In 1982 I worked as an English speaking tour guide, but during my spare time I learned Italian language by my own method autodidact using English – Italian; Italian – English dictionary and grammar book.. I spent about 2 hours a day to learn it, sometime early in morning, in the afternoon and sometime late at night. I succeeded to keep in my mind 2 words a day but I found much difficulty in learning the grammar because it's very different with my mother language Balinese and Indonesian, but I insisted to meet successfully. Daily, week by week and month by month, and ….. finally I got it.

In October 1982 one of my friend who run a travel agent in Bali asked me to handle his clients, they were Italian and speak a bit English. That was my first time to practice my Italian tongue. When I met them at Bali International Airport, the first question I must answer was “where is the best place to dive”. With honesty actually I didn’t know the answer, but I promised them for the good news the day after.

I visited my friend’s house and meet Bli Monyoh, a fisherman live in Sanur the village on the southeast coast of Bali. I knew he was a good fisherman and very smart in shooting fish, diving with his own talent using very simple dive equipment.

Pura Uluwatu

The first temple.

After I've only gotten up very late and then a little along the streets of Kuta and am walking on the beach, I made an abrupt decision included a short trip to the Temple Kecak Dance and seafood dinners. The dinner in Jimbaran Bali was a bit overpriced in my opinion, although highly praised in the guide books. Upon arrival in Yogyakarta on Tuesday morning, we decided to go directly to the Prambanan temple, which lies about 18km east of Yogyakarta. This is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, and was built around 850. In 2006, the temple was seriously damaged by an earthquake. He is currently being rebuilt and therefore can be seen in the pictures so many scaffolding. I was very fascinated in spite of the damage from the temple.

Afterwards, we went by bus to the city itself, where we checked in to our hostel after a delicious meal to take with us. The food in Yogyakarta was really great and can definitely be compared with that of a "normal" fine cuisine in Germany. However, prices of the equivalent of 2-4 € incl drinks. We then decided to go to sleep after dinner, as we had planned for the night, the ascent of the volcano Merapi. The Merapi is the most active volcano in Indonesia and no less than 2911m high. He is just 51m below the Zugspitze!
By 22 clock we were picked up from our hostel, then drove about 2 hours to the volcano. At about 1500m began after a short break and a hot cup of tea by 1 clock at night the rise with our guide. It remains for the rise only to say that there was a raging inferno:-P. It was very exhausting, but ultimately we have to be done in time for sunrise at 5 clock to the summit. My energy reserves were indeed gänßlich at the end, but the view was magnificent. However, it was the first time I am in Singapore are that I gefrohren TRUE. The Borobudur monument is the largest Buddhist monument in Southeast Asia, on postcards, is even said that it is the largest in the world. It was built 750 to 850 and consists of 9 floors. It has even been suggested as a world wonder. It is centrally located between 4 volcanoes. Since 1991, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But enough history. You could see that I've made a lot of pictures of it and I could not make up my mind that I now put online, or delete, since each has its own fascination. The visit is definitely a must if you are on Java!
At noon it was still in the Ngayogyakarta Kraton, the palace of the Sultan and the Sultan, the former swimming pool, but that are due to public accessibility will be 250 years-longer used by the sultan.

In the afternoon, we are then flown to Jakarta. Jakarta is the "fucked up" the city I have ever seen. In the evening we went to the club X2, since Jakarta is said to be, that clubs are among the best in the world. And the clubs are really the exact opposite, and a stark contrast to the city because they are very modern, failed (our club worked from the inside as a chapel) and very stylish. The celebration, in spite of the few people on Friday night had been fun since.

The next morning we went for 4 1 / 2 hours waiting at the airport to return Singpaur, where I will make this week a little sightseeing. On Saturday gehts then to ZoukOut, a huge dance festival on the beach in Singapore, which is expected to more than 10,000 people. It will be interesting how it is :-).

Jogja

Today was sightseeing day in Jogja. The omniscient Lonely Planet suggested a Walk through the city, which I followed grateful. He leads among others to the two Sultanspalaesten, Kraton and Taman Sari. Unfortunately, I must say that I had expected them much more. But the impression is confirmed that bypass the Indonesians rather unkindly with your cultural monuments. Perhaps this will change when the UNESCO here in the next few years the conservation and restoration notes in his hand.
